Location
Two Tree Island
Intent
To record the scenes around the landing stage at Two Tree Island.
Equipment Used
Canon 5Ds with Sigma 35mm f1.4, Tripod and remote trigger
Methodology
Due the wide dynamic range of the scenes between the shadows around the boats and the highlights in the sky it was decided to bracket the exposures and then merge them in the pre-post production step to create High Dynamic Range images that would then be taken into post production.

Assessment of outcome
The slipway was an interesting subject to shoot because with the rising tide it was still possible to seethe edges of the slipway that was partially covered by the sea creating an interesting set of leading lines within the frame that very much draws the gaze into the frame. The vertical structure just to the left helps create interest by being slightly of centre.
The second image of the boats moored as the sense of calm except to the red tinge to the skyline close to the horizon. There is a mix of tranquility against the red sky entering from the left of frame.
