Location
Brightlingsea
Intent
To record the scenes around the landing stage at Brightlingsea during blue hour. This was my first visit to the location as part of this project.
Equipment Used
Canon 5Ds with Sigma 35mm f1.4, Tripod and remote trigger
Methodology
Due the wide dynamic range of the scenes it was decided to bracket the exposure and then merge them in the pre-post production step to create High Dynamic Range images that would then be taken into post production.

Assessment of outcome
The overall mode created in these images is consistent with earlier shoots in the revised series.
The image from the end of the Jetty is interesting because of the vertical pylons that have been driven into mud for the jetty the fact they exist beyond the end of the jetty made me think of trees emerging from the water. The create a visual line that takes the reader towards the left side of the frame as a point of departure from the jetty.
In the second image of the gangway on to the jetty it reminds me of the jetway you find at an airport. The entry to the jetty reminds me of the boarding gate where your passport might be checked before you get on the plane for your destination.
Each of the scenes is shot with the horizon in different positions to provide options when it comes to hanging the images as a sequence in the exhibition space.
