City Canyons explores the streets of the City of London from the eyes of an individual who has worked in or near the the Square mile for over 25 years.
The paths we follow when traversing the city a defined by the buildings that appear like the vertical walls of canyons in places like Arizona however other paths rather than being created by nature are defined by the architects and buildings of the City of London over hundreds of years. Those familiar with the environment don’t focus on the structures along their route they blur into a single continuous surface.
Using a technique to blend multiple images City Canyons recreates the Arizona canyon walls in an urban landscape where man has terraformed the landscape.
