Donnington Park Trackday with Caterham Superlight

Last year the future for Donnington Park looked very bleak following the aborted attempt to bring Formula 1 to the circuit. Thankfully the circuit has been saved for the motorsport. The 22nd June was the first at Donnington Park on four wheels all the previous trips to the circuit had been on two wheels.

The drivers eye view of the track was so different that of a motorcyclist.

The following video is from the dry afternoon session where the dry track allowed faster lap times to be achieved.

In the morning the heavens opened during one session on track making for some difficult driving conditions especially at the Old Hairpin after the exciting run down the Craner Curves.

On the blog there is a video from 10 years ago when I was riding a Ducati 748R using the best small consumer video camera of the time using the maximum available resolution. The car video was shot using a GoPro HD and advances in technology are evident in the picture quality from Lap.
