Project – City Canyons – Final Edit

The nature of Series No. 2 ‘City Canyons’ meant that I had a much smaller population of images to handle in the final edit because selection has taken place earlier in the creative process when selecting the images that would be layered together to create the subject images. Some compositions I felt worked better than others. In the case of a couple of the images on Eldon Street the images that were less successful in my opinion were those that had multiple points of interest of equal merit which meant the viewer’s gaze would be constantly jumping from one part of the image to another part unable to fix focus and follow lines naturally through the frame. Therefore in the final edit I cast a discerning eye across the images to select images which either drew the viewer to a singular point of focus or were devoid of a singular focus allowing the viewer to roam freely around the image unhindered.
